BIOGRAPHY OF Abimbola Abosede Amope Izevbehai Life is a mystery dotted with various landmarks, situations, circumstances, experiences, hopes, aspirations, encouragements, discouragements, and faith woven together and encapsulated to form every personality on the surface of the earth. Abimbola’s life started with her birth on January 25, 1959 and ended with her homegoing on October 14, 2020. Between these two (2) points in life lies the making of a beautiful and special angel called Abimbola Izevbehai. Abimbola Abosede Amope fondly called Abimbim growing up, was born to late Pa Christian Ebun Jawo and Augusta Modupe Olemoh alias ‘say mummy’ on the 25th of January 1959 in Epetedo, Lagos Island. She had her primary education at Lagos City Council Primary School, Lagos Island. She proceeded to have her secondary school education at Hope Grammar School in IIesha, Nigeria. She joined Nigerian Airways as an air hostess where she worked for years until she joined her lovely husband Philip Izevbehai in New York, USA in 1988 when she started a new and wonderful chapter of her life. At the early stage in New York, Abimbola Izevbehai started her new life abroad by first attending Dudley's Beauty College in pursuit of her passion to own a beauty salon. She attended several workshops / seminars to acquire advanced skills in hairdressing along with nail design sculpting. Abimbola attended Betty Owen Secretarial Systems where she successfully completed courses of study in word processing specialist. Having developed the necessary skills, Abimbola opened her first business in America, a beauty salon in Queens, NY called Nefertiti Beauty Salon. Nefertiti would go on to be a staple in the community for over ten years. The next journey for Abimbola was in the food industry. In 2001, Abimbola attended the New York Culinary Institute, where she built up her skills in various ethnic dishes, food prep and restaurant management. Post graduation, Abimbola took a leap of faith and invested in the franchise Chester Chicken in Jamaica Queens, NY. Thereafter, “Boss Lady” (as she is known at work) closed her Chester Chicken business on Guy brewer Blvd and opened the first Tropical Grill Restaurant. The Nigerian-American restaurant gained so much popularity that Abimbola had to expand. Abimbola relocated to 153-41 Rockaway Blvd, Jamaica New York and opened a “state of the art” restaurant known as Tropical Grill Restaurant, Bar and Lounge. Under the leadership of Abimbola Izevbehai this West African restaurant also morphed into a busting night spot with DJs, cocktails, and social networking. Abimbola Abosede Amope Izevbehai left behind a husband, two (2) lovely children, two (2) lovely grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. Late Abimbola Abosede was a hard working woman, a loving wife, caring mother, a lovely sister, a true friend and most of all, a child of God. Tribute to My Darling Wife Abimbola Abosede Jawo izevbehai It is with heavy heart and demise that I am writing this tribute in support of my late beloved wife, my best friend, my partner , my kids sweet mother that I call during holidays “Beem with 7 stars”. Abimbola Abosede Izevbehai, aka the BOSS LADY left us so soon to be with the Lord on October 14, 2020 after fighting a good fight with cancer. This tribute is too difficult for me to write, my wife and I took a journey in the last three(3) months that involves waking up in the morning several days of the week, going to see doctors, then to the clinic, then to the hospital and then back home with big HOPE of recovery and chemo-pain. What can I possibly say after seeing my wife lose so much weight and in pain, What can I say after seeing my Beem not able to eat regularly, no energy to walk that we normally do 5 miles on a good healthy day, All I can say is “it is WELL”. Abimbola Izevbehai came home to be with her lovely family after 12 days in the hospital before leaving the earth to be with the Lord in a better place where there is no more chemo /or pain, She was in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. May her soul Rest in perfect! Perfect !! perfect !!! peace. As I sat quietly on the day she left, I started reflecting for a while imagining her voice calling Phil, Phil, Phil as she does when looking for something or needing help, her face and warm loving smile guiding my thoughts. She truly left a hole in my heart that can only be filled with her beautiful memories. The word LIFE is an interesting mixture of letters that we are always searching for its meaning. From the day we are born till the day we transition back to our maker we always wonder what LIFE stands for. Little have we ever considered that the meaning of LIFE is in its individual letters staring right at us, we are just too busy searching for its meaning elsewhere to be able to tell. The first letter L in life stands for “loving”; loving what we have, loving the people around us, loving our partner, our children and above all, the God of creations and beautiful things he gave us to appreciate all around us from big to small. The second letter I, stands for “intensely”; intensely caring about the ones who care about you intensely, being a pillar of support for your emotional dependents and intensely being a beacon of hope for all the ones who need you when their hope has been starting to fade away. The third letter F in life stands for “ferociously”; ferociously defending the ones you love from danger and negativity and anguish with the strength of a powerful lioness who would do anything to protect her lion and her cubs in every way from any challenge or struggle they may come across as they develop. The last letter E in life stands for “eternally”; eternally watching over the ones you care about eternally inspiring and eternally living among us and guiding us for ever and ever. My wife, “BEEM with 7 Stars” was my everything and I always did, and I always will love her intensely ferociously and eternally just like she loved me in all the years of her life. Thank you my love for the wonderful legacy we built together and the lovely kids and grandkids we raised as a family. It was really hard to see her go so soon, after the pain she went through for years but I am at peace with my God because she is in a better place. Till we meet again to part no more continue to shine on us and watch over us. ONE LOVE Phil A Tribute to my mother Daughter, Temitope Izevbehai It’s been nearly one month and everyday since your passing, I wake up hoping this is just a dark twisted dream and not my reality. It’s because I feel you mommy, I see you mommy, and most importantly I hear you mommy. That’s how heavy your spirit is. A positive, courageous and beautiful spirit. So beautiful that many people had no idea what you were personally going through. You fought a brave fight with cancer and always had a positive attitude and most importantly kept your faith! You are a true fighter indeed, you fought for your health, you fought for your loved ones, you fought for your businesses, and you always fought for your children. What is the definition of a great mother? Without a doubt it is you. I love you so much mommy. I’m having a hard time digesting that you were taken away too soon, but I find comfort in knowing that you are truly free. Free of stress, free of worries, and free of pain. My guardian angel. "Best believe me, you will see me on the other side." Your daughter, Temitope Christine Izevbehai A Tribute to my mother - Son, Philip Izevbehai Jr. “What’s up momma” , “What’s up papi” . How I wish I could hear you say that again ! Life has been in flux since you haven’t been around to call and say “I was just checking on you” . Everything is different, life has drastically changed, I’ve never experienced this much immense pain in my life . I miss you dearly mom ! With all that being said, your little voice in the back of my head manages to make me smile, continue to push forward and leave behind a legacy for our family . My Queen, you didn’t leave without giving your children unbelievable blessings, will to succeed and everlasting love to pour onto our loved ones. I cannot wait to kiss you on your forehead again and visit paradise together!!
