George C. Singfield

In Loving Memory of George C. Singfield Jr. September 6, 1928 – April 12, 2025 George C. Singfield Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, and devoted member of his community, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on September 6, 1928, in Augusta, Georgia, George was the second eldest child of the late George C. Singfield Sr. and Iola F. (Stanley) Singfield. Raised in a nurturing home grounded in faith, family, and hard work, he carried these core values with him throughout his life, shaping the man he became. George was preceded in death by his parents, his cherished sisters Mamie L. (Singfield) McDonald and DeArtelia Singfield, and his beloved niece Coltia McDonald Parker. He leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss him: his brother Robert F. Singfield Sr. (Doris); his niece Karen L. Copeland (Garris) of Ellenwood, GA; and nephews Robert F. Singfield Jr. of Bowie, MD, Martin V. McDonald (Tuesday) of Peekskill, NY; Zolly L. McDonald (Leslie) of Yorktown Heights, NY; Peter Kofi McDonald of Decatur, GA; and Robert J. McDonald of Decatur, GA. George attended Ossining High School and Shaw University before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. A thoughtful writer and lifelong lover of music, George's varied career paths reflected his deep desire to make a meaningful impact on the world. He used his talents and experiences as a vehicle to influence public discourse, uplift children, support organizations, and serve his community. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends. George’s presence was a source of wisdom and peace, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Location: A. L.
